Joe Kennaway Montreal Celtic Supporters Club
Games are shown at Brasserie Manoir
6810 St. jacques, Montreal, Quebec, Canada H4B 1V8

The origin of the Montreal Celtic Supporters Club dates back to 1994. A small meeting (Jim Traynor, Jimmy Burns, Tommy Dickson, John & Ann Wright) took place at Jim's residence and as word spread the first televised game was shown at Kelly's Pub on the West Island. An invited guest at this game was none other than Fergus McCann! The Montreal Celtic Supporters Club was officially active and membership quickly grew to approximately 75 with games being televised at the Haraki Bar (1994 to 1997) in LaSalle. Satellite signal reception in those days was rather hit & miss and many folklore tales are still told of infamous come-backs while the signal was down!
In 1997 as membership continued to flourish the club moved to larger premises. The Brasserie de Rapids (1997 to 2003) with its open architecture led to complaints from the regulars about the "rowdy" football fans....especially at Old Firm games as at that time Rangers did not have a club in Montreal and a few uninvited Huns showed-up for the games. None other than Billy Connolly watched a game at this brasserie. A brief stint at the Peel/Real Pub followed and it was the venue for the Seville UEFA Cup Final.
In 2006 with membership on the decline games were shown at the Brasserie Le Cordon. As the product on the field was less appetizing thank goodness for the great breakfasts served by the French Canadian hostesses! On one occasion Dermot Desmond paid a visit to the club. 2008 saw a move to a new venue on Queen Mary Road - Finegan's Irish Pub. Thanks to Tom, Claude and Angel for making us welcome. Celtic TV, IPTV system and all.
To commemorate the only Montreal native that ever played professionally for Celtic the club was renamed The Joe Kennaway Celtic Supporters Club in 2010.
Season 2013/14 and it's back to Le Cordon.
Season 2017/18 - PJ's Pub.
Current location - Brasserie Manoir.
RIP - John Barclay, John Smith, Tommy Dickson, Jimmy Sharkey, Andy Wilson, Pat Devlin, Jimmy Burns, Sandy Strachan, Frank Killen, Allan Youster, Jozsef (Ole Ole Ole) Tornyos and Alain Trembley.
